Kristen Mai Giang

Kristen is a Chinese American author who immigrated from Vietnam when she was 18 months old and grew up in San Gabriel, CA, a melting pot of Asian cultures and cuisines.

Ginger and Chrysanthemum, her debut picture book, draws from these memories as well as the antics of her two children and their cousins. Last Flight, her most personal picture book, tells the story of her family’s escape from Saigon six days before its fall in 1975, on the dramatic last commercial flight out.

When not writing, Kristen has spent the past two decades creating kid-targeted Emmy Award-winning digital content for Disney, NBC Kids, and Mattel, among others. She is a proud member of SCBWI.
